Social Work

Continuing Education Academy

Dr. Turenza Smith-Woods and Dr. LaSharia Turner were entrusted with coordinating and leading training initiatives for social service workers within the Department of Human Resources in the Birmingham Metro Area. Since its inception in 2023, these training programs have grown substantially, expanding their reach and impact.

蓝莓视频 Department of Social Work (Birmingham Location) now offers a range of year-round training opportunities and an annual Social Work Summer Summit. These initiatives support social service professionals and social work students' ongoing professional development, fostering a sense of community and shared learning.

The virtual learning series supports the professional development of social service workers, specifically social workers, in response to the growing need for accessible, flexible, and ongoing education. This series is designed to provide practical tools, up-to-date knowledge, and enhanced skills in areas critical to the evolving demands of the field, ensuring that professionals can continue to provide high-quality services to individuals, families, and communities.
